Tillamook County Parks Department Park Host Program
We are now accepting applications for the Summer 2021 camping season. Volunteer opportunities are available at the following locations:
Kilchis River County Campground
Trask River County Campground
Our Park Host positions and duties vary according to the park location, number of park patrons and other park hosts that are available throughout the given year. The best way to completely understand all Park Host duties that are expected in any given hosting position is to speak with our Park Host Coordinator.
All
Park Hosts...
1. Must live on the campground/park grounds
2. Should work a minimum of 2 months, though longer durations are preferred
3. Will receive orientation, training, uniforms and recognition
4. Will receive job description(s) and work schedule
5. Should be able to explain rules to park patrons, but DO NOT
ENFORCE them; this is an advisory role only
6. Are expected to abide by park rules and regulations
7. Will have a sign identifying them as a Park Host
Job Duties May Include:
* Computerized reservations and registration
* Selling firewood
* Cleaning restrooms and showers
Job Duties Will Include: Greeting visitors and making them feel welcome
Serving as a contact point for park patrons
Picking up litter
Keeping restrooms stocked with paper products
Maintaining a tidy host site
Notifying Parks staff or law enforcement when emergencies arise or activities within
the park warrant them
Mowing, weeding, landscaping, etc...
And some other duties or projects mutually agreed upon with parks staff
